Winter Wedding in Kelowna BC...but where is the snow?

Kate and I have loved getting to know Steve and Erin. Steve, a professional photographer himself, knew photography was going to be a priority at their Wedding so they booked us a year and half in advance. Needless to say we have been anticipating this Wedding!
Set in February, as a Winter Wedding, we couldn't wait to shoot in the snow. This year however, Mother Nature saw Winter differently and so the snow was already gone. I was ecstatic however to find that the river at Mission Creek Park in Kelowna BC was still frozen over, so we got out on the ice, lit some sparklers and had some fun with the Wedding Party! The girls all looked stunning in their faux fur wraps and men dapper in their long tailed tuxes. Very chic!

Thanks to Lois Lane Antiques for the fun backdrop for Erin and Steve's Bride and Groom portraits.

"Thank you very much Renee & Kate. I have no doubt that we made the absolute best choice in hiring you guys. Your work is exemplary, and you both are some of the friendliest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I will be telling absolutely everyone I know that anytime they need the services of a professional photographer, you guys are the only ones worth working with. Thank you both so much!"

Steve & Erin Gaucher, Kelowna B.C.

Ryan & Lena are SNAPPED

Congratulations to Ryan and Lena as March's ultra chic couple in Snap Okanagan Magazine! For those of you who have seen some of our work, we are drawn to great graffiti and the new work we found the day of Lena and Ryan's Wedding was absolutely perfect. 12 red roses with the words "Apostles of Love". Sadly, it has since been painted over but it will live on in the images we captured. To see the other great Wedding couples go to SNAP Okanagan.

Best Engagement Photo 2009!

Oh wow, oh wow!!! From one of our most tranquil and fun Engagement Sessions, comes the news it has won, from across Canada, as one of the Best Engagement Photos of 2009! The session with Kevin and Kathryn came during the BC fires this past summer so what should have been an early morning session on the river, looked more like sunset with all the hues of red and orange and lots of smokiness to add to the ambiance. We even got to paddle in a canoe over to a beautiful sandbar for the fantastic session. To be inspired by all of the great winners go to Bride.ca

"Inspired By This; Wedding Insight" Features our Photos from our Engagement Session with Jillian & Ed!

I continue to be honored by the number of comments and requests I receive on a daily basis for information and kudos on the Engagement Session we did with Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski of ABC's "The Bachelorette.

Yesterday I was super excited to be involved in a telephone call with Jillian and Leila Khalil of Be Inspired, a Wedding Specialist in LA. This fantastic blog and website features all things wonderful for those planning a Wedding and looking for inspiration. Leila wanted to interview Jillian to find out about all the exciting details she can spill on her and Ed's upcoming Wedding plans and to find out the inspiration behind our Engagement shoot.

To read about all the delightful tidbits Leila was able to find out from Jillian check out Be Inspired's "Real Wedding Wednesday: ABC's Bachelorette Jillian Harris Engagement Photo Shoot"

Thanks to Jillian for this particularly sweet comment from the interview:

How did they choose their engagement session photographer and what was the inspiration behind the shoot?

“Wedded Bliss was always sweet and supportive of me back when I was on The Bachelor with Jason. I’ve loved her work and knew I wanted something both artistic and outdoors.” Winter is Jillian’s favorite time of year and being outside in the beautiful backdrop at home in Canada was the perfect setting.

ABC's Bachelorette Jillian Harris & Ed Swiderski Engagement Photo Shoot by Wedded Bliss Photography

Christmas came a day late for me this year. On Boxing Day, I got an email from the lovely Jillian Harris of ABC's The Bachelorette, asking if we could do some Engagement Photos of her and her fiance Ed Swiderski. It was a fantastic Christmas present, considering what a fan I was of her and Ed! Although they were super busy visiting family and friends in Kelowna, we managed to get a session on the last day they were here.
I wanted to find some really unique, fun locations, so we started at Gellatly Nut Farm on Okanagan Lake and then finished off the session at an auto wrecking yard! Thanks to the gang at Wheels Truck Parts for opening the compound just for us.
Kate and I LOVED working with Jillian and Ed but I just had to ask the question (as I do of all my couples) "So how did you two meet?" :)
To see more photos from our session, please visit our Engagement Section at Wedded Bliss Photography.

Winter Engagement Session at Silver Star Mountain Resort

Silver Star Mountain Resort is becoming one of my favorite places these days. With little snow in either Kelowna or Vernon, it is well worth the drive if you are looking for some of the white stuff or just want to get above the clouds. It is also a beautiful backdrop for an Engagement Session as the photos from Melanie and Jeremy's session can attest to :)

Just be leery of your fiance wanting to start a snowball fight!!!

Destination Wedding at Semiahmoo Resort

I LOVE my job! What other job do you get invited to a couples most anticipated and beautiful moment....and get to see them start a new chapter in their life! I also LOVE Destination Weddings! I get to see fantastic new venues and this one, Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine Washington was spectacular! It was a super cold and rainy evening so Colin and Megan were real troopers for even venturing outside for a few images. Thankfully the Resort has a beautiful wine cellar and we were able to continue our session warm and dry. Thanks Kurt for helping with the video light ;)
