Destination Wedding at Semiahmoo Resort

I LOVE my job! What other job do you get invited to a couples most anticipated and beautiful moment....and get to see them start a new chapter in their life! I also LOVE Destination Weddings! I get to see fantastic new venues and this one, Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine Washington was spectacular! It was a super cold and rainy evening so Colin and Megan were real troopers for even venturing outside for a few images. Thankfully the Resort has a beautiful wine cellar and we were able to continue our session warm and dry. Thanks Kurt for helping with the video light ;)

A Merry Moore Christmas

It doesn't officially feel like Christmas until Vernonites get to hear Paul and Melina Moore of Studio Moore belt out the tunes. Once again, their extremely talented group of ensemble singers and students were also presenting some of the most beloved Christmas carols and sacred tunes of the season. The Vernon Performing Arts Centre was filled with the most unbelievable energy and it was fun capturing all the moments! A special shout out to the Moores' son Justin who, along with the students of Beairsto Elementary School, raised over $700 for the Save the Children Fund! Way to go kids!!!

Engagement Session at Kalamalka Lake

I had the privilege of photographing Kelsey and Eric on the perfect winter day for an Engagement Session. It wasn't too cold, it was a little overcast (making for perfect lighting conditions) and we had our first snow fall. Kelsey and Eric were naturals in front of the camera and I LOVED her accent of a blue scarf :)

Down from the North Pole

I photographed Jenn & Damon twice the week of their Wedding. Normally I don't do a couples Engagement Session and Wedding in the same week but for those of you who didn't see their Engagement Session post, they live up in the Arctic Circle. They were only in the Okangan for a short while...then they were back off to the North Pole. I sent them their album today and I hope Santa delivers it before he starts his rounds :)

They are such a fun, loving couple; I look forward to seeing them when they are back visiting. As my Associate Photographer for the day, I had the über talented Brian Reilly to work with, and we loved experimenting with the new video light I had just purchased.

I decided tonight to post all 30 pages from Jenn & Damon's Wedding. They had a full day of coverage and the album really shows how the whole story unfolded. To see each page in a fuller version; please just double click on the image ;)

"We have wedding pictures all over our house, in our digital photo-frame, on our computer and we’ll have some printed on our next trip out of the north!!! I can not even begin to tell you how much we LOVE LOVE LOVE our pictures. There is not a single picture that we say “why the heck did they take that picture”, we love them all - all one thousand plus.

You and Brian make an excellent team and were so much fun to spend the day with. Both of you handle yourselves very well and seem to go with the flow naturally. All of your pictures blend together nicely and look amazing!

I have to thank you also for making everything so incredibly easy for me in the planning stage of things. When I contacted you, I was going solely off of what I’d found on the internet. I can’t say for a second I had second thoughts in choosing you as our photo-grapher. From the first time we spoke on the phone I knew that you’d be perfect and we’d get along just fine! I got off the phone with you and I kept telling Damon, she’s perfect!

Although the photography was the most expensive part of our wedding, it was worth every cent. Pictures say a thousand words and with all the pictures we have, really it’s all priceless.

Thank you very much for everything and thank you to Brian also. We enjoyed working with both of you. And when we have little babies you can bet that we’ll be calling you to take some more pictures :)

Jenn & Damon

P.S. Not many photographers would climb barbed wire fences, tearing a hole in their new jeans to get a great Engagement picture for their clients and I’m sure few would roll up their pants and get into a lake to take pictures like you did. That will always be remembered! All of those pictures turned out great and worth while!"

Kathryn & Kevin

Kate and I LOVE shooting a Wedding that has a unique twist or something completely different than we would normally shoot. Kathryn and Kevin; as all Brides and Grooms do, looked fabulous...it was the backdrop that we got to photograph them against that got us super excited that morning. Kathryn's family are dairy farmers and although we knew we wanted to get some cows in the background...little did we know how friendly they would be!

Half the time I was laughing so hard (usually as one of the cows was gently licking me or my camera bag) I could barely take the shot :)

It couldn't have been a more beautiful fall day at Springbend Farms!

Wedding at Cedar Creek Estate Winery

Right from my first meeting with Teri and Drue I was super excited about the vision they had for their big day. Being from Edmonton they chose the Okanagan as a destination that all their friends and family could also enjoy. Who could blame them for wanting to be surrounded by such beautiful scenery! They also wanted to keep it very simple and not have a Wedding party or even any shoes at one point :) That allowed Kate and her great associate photographer Jenn, to have extended time with just the Bride and Groom. Kate chose some great locations-Manteo Resort & Cedar Creek Estate Winery and the Wedding itself was at the beautiful and coveted Guisachan House. Teri and Drue are completely in love, and totally at ease in front of the camera. It shows in the breathtaking images Kate & Jenn captured.
